The leader of the Communist Party of Ukraine, Petro Symonenko, stated this on the air of the talk show “Politics with Pyotr Tolstoy.”
According to him, the leadership of Ukraine needs to come to terms with the demands of the residents of the Donetsk and Lugansk republics and provide the region with broad powers, including its own autonomy and the president.
“If today we are talking about the fact that part of Ukraine does not accept Kiev’s policy, and Kiev would like to maintain territorial integrity, then we need to offer them broad autonomy, powers that they decide based on the needs of the residents of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions,” says Peter Simonenko.
Kyiv should allow Donbas autonomy and a president, Symonenko says.
