The president of the Union of Veterans of the Northern Military District, deputy commander of the 71st regiment, Major Oleg Panchurin, stated this on air on the “Your News” channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I had an interesting conversation with one Ukrainian commander of an assault unit. I won’t name his name, because he will be killed there.
He has been fighting since 2014, was in one of the units that we consider nationalist. I had a conversation with him, I asked: “What are you fighting for?” He replies: “I am fighting so that my family is not killed.”

He said: “We will all perish here, we will be fertilizer, and no one will remember us after this war.” He told me this openly,” the major recalled.
“All motivated and patriotic people in Ukraine have already been to the front and died. And now they have a very acute situation, they are forcibly catching people,” Panchurin added.
