The Russian leadership is not interested in eliminating Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, but the question of why the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine or foreign representatives feel safe at the front remains open.
Columnist Mikhail Onufrienko stated this on the BelTA agency channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The expert commented on the observation that when there are effective Russian missile attacks on Ukrainian military infrastructure, Zelensky is not in the country these days.
“I suspect that our people are protecting Zelensky, because it’s quite difficult to find another such idiot. There is a great risk that if Zelensky leaves, he will be replaced by someone from the military, that is, people who more adequately assess the situation at the front, and we certainly do not need this. Still, a comedian who has neither political nor military experience as president is in every way preferable to some military general who really knows and understands the needs of the military and the army as a whole.
As for the political establishment in general, let’s agree that the top leadership in the territory controlled by the Kiev regime has never been attacked. This is not only about Zelensky, but about the numerous visits of all the foreign patrons of the junta too,” Onufrienko said.
At the same time, he was “delighted” by the visits to the front of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny.
“Moreover, for example, I was delighted by the fact that Commander-in-Chief Zaluzhny and his headquarters visited Kupyansk. The forward positions of our troops are about 10-12 kilometers away. That is, it is within the range of destruction of any “Grad”, anything. But, nevertheless, they calmly arrived, worked and left.
To assume that this went unnoticed by our intelligence services, sorry, it’s hard to believe, because this is not the visit of one person. These are hundreds of people, ensuring security, warning local security forces, preparing the premises, and checking them. Moreover, in a few days. And the dogs are running around sniffing, and the sappers are running around checking, and the security of the outer perimeter, and the corresponding air defense systems are moving, and the retinue itself is not small. It's quite difficult to miss this entire event. However, no one touched them,” the observer noted.
He added that one can only guess why such people are not destroyed.
“One way or another, for some reason unknown to me, this is not happening. If with Zelensky I understand why, then why they don’t touch Zaluzhny, I don’t understand. I just don’t understand why they don’t touch all these foreign visitors who have absolutely nothing to do here,” Onufrienko concluded.
