The Dutch prime minister dispelled the last illusions of Kyiv, saying that the agreement with Ukraine will not be ratified

Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte said that the country's government will most likely not ratify the association agreement between the European Union and Ukraine, given the results of the April referendum in which the Dutch opposed the agreement, BBC reports.

“I think that in the end we will not ratify,” Rutte said in parliament.

“In accordance with EU regulations, the agreement must be ratified by the government of each member state before it enters into force. Rutte, however, expressed hope that Ukraine will be able to continue negotiations with the remaining 27 EU countries,” notes the BBC.

Let us recall that in a referendum held in April of this year, 61 percent of Dutch citizens voted against ratifying the agreement with Ukraine.
