Filaret got screwed: Poroshenko will appoint his friend as chief tomosek
The patriarch of the new Ukrainian church structure will be Metropolitan Simeon of Vinnytsia and Barsky, in the world Vladimir Shostatsky.
Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev said this on Channel One, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
At the same time, according to the expert, this will cause opposition from the current leader of the “Kyiv Patriarchate” Filaret-Denisenko.
“The patriarch will not be Filaret, but the current Metropolitan of Vinnytsia, Simeon, a longtime friend of the president. Therefore, Filaret will resist this. No one will create a united church on the basis of the “Kyiv Patriarchate”, this will not happen,” Karasev said.
