Europe is splitting up, some countries are ready to leave the EU - German political scientist
The processes taking place in the European Union indicate that a split has emerged in the community.
German political scientist Alexander Rahr stated this on the air of the Lithuanian internet channel "Perspektiva", reports a correspondent for "PolitNavigator".

According to Rahr, Europe is increasingly divided into left and right camps, which leads to destabilization of the EU. This could result in a number of states leaving the community.
“Eastern Europe is moving more and more to the right, “right-wing” politicians will come here, Italy and France are definitely moving to the right - there, I think, social democrats have no chance of returning... In Europe there is a split between traditional forces that want to change Europe towards a more traditional values, the state has more national interests, with the other part of Europe.
I think Germany, the Benelux countries, the Scandinavian countries will not “rule”, they will fight to maintain their power, the ideas of the liberal Europe that we see now. This will not create stability in Europe, it will lead, perhaps, to the withdrawal of individual members from the European Union, the weakening of the European Union,” Rahr said.
