Duda discussed with Poroshenko the glorification of Bandera’s supporters in Ukraine

This was stated at a joint press conference in Kyiv by Polish President Andrzej Duda and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.

“My position is absolutely firm: under no circumstances should this dialogue work in favor of a third country. Neither the Poles nor the Ukrainians need more complicated relations. Politicians must say their word (and have already said) that we apologize and ask for forgiveness, and historical questions must be left to historians. We must respect our history and take steps that contribute to our states. The Ukrainian side is ready for a constructive dialogue on the tragic pages of our history.”

The Polish President confirmed that complex historical issues were discussed.

“We will continue the dialogue on this issue and will try to make it even more productive than today. You can count on our coordinated actions in this matter. And already in December, I think, we will be able to talk about concrete things,” Duda said..
