This was announced by the Chairman of DonOGA Alexander Kikhtenko in an interview with the Ostrov publication.
“For example, after such a barbaric shelling of Debaltseve (I was there for about two and a half hours, and for two and a half hours the fire did not stop at Debaltseve), I seriously thought about the need to disconnect Donetsk from electricity,” said Kikhtenko. -And I instructed that they prepare a certificate for me whether this can be done technically or not. And now we are studying this issue. Why? “Well, if you don’t give us the opportunity to restore power supply today, and they don’t, we appealed 8-10 times through the OSCE to give us a corridor, to give us the opportunity to restore light and for people to survive normally,” the official claims.
At the same time, according to his data, about 40% of the residents of Debaltseve went over to the side of the DPR.
“In the same Debaltseve (I was there a few days ago), there are no positions of the Ukrainian army. There are no fortifications in Debaltsevo, there are no artillery firing positions there. It’s all nearby, but not in Debaltsevo,” he assures. “Today there is no light, no heat, no water, people are sitting in basements, it is impossible to bury people.”
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier the DPR stated that a Ukrainian group of troops numbering 8,5 thousand people was squeezed into the “Debaltsevo cauldron.”
Donetsk may be cut off from power supply due to Debaltseve.
