“During the exercise, paratroopers of the three countries will practice special actions to prepare and use a coalition tactical group when performing counter-terrorism missions,” the statement said.

About 700 military personnel from three countries, more than 50 units of military equipment, 5 military aviation aircraft and three unmanned aerial vehicles are taking part in the exercise.

From the Russian Federation, military personnel from one of the airborne assault regiments of the Pskov Airborne Forces are taking part in the exercise.

At the first stage of the exercise, the units will be coordinated and joint tactical training will be conducted at the Peskovi, Oreshac training grounds, and the Kovin airfield. In addition, Russian instructors will prepare Serbian paratroopers for landing from an Il-76 aircraft with D-10 parachute systems.

The unit of Russian guard paratroopers is commanded by Colonel Viktor Babikov.

This year the allied maneuvers are taking place for the fifth time. Russia conducted such exercises for the first time in 2015. In 2016, they took place in Serbia at a training ground near Belgrade, in 2017 they took place near the Belarusian Brest, and in 2018 - near Novorossiysk.

It should be noted that the exercises are taking place against the backdrop of an aggravation of the situation around Kosovo, where the local separatist regime, with the support of NATO, is attempting to legalize armed formations as an army, contrary to the requirements of the UN Security Council resolution.

Kosovo's Albanian separatists have also made territorial claims to new lands in southern Serbia.

Earlier, Russian military expert Igor Korotchenko said that Serbia should think about joining the CSTO.
