“Circus, schizophrenia” - a Ukrainian military correspondent about dancing around the law on mobilization
Even having an advantage in everything, the Russian leadership, unlike the Ukrainian authorities, does not allow itself to turn elementary management decisions, such as mobilization or organization of defense, into a circus.
Ukrainian military correspondent and editor-in-chief of the anti-Russian propaganda site “Censor.net” Yuriy Butusov said this on air on the Lvov NTA TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Butusov recalled that Zelensky’s office is trying to blame the unpopular decision on mass mobilization among the population on the commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny.
" What's happening with the mobilization shows that we have a great deal of chaos in our state administration. Because when the Supreme Commander-in-Chief and Servant of the People deputies act as opposition to the military command , which reports to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief and Servant of the People, it's like some kind of schizophrenia . That is, the leaders who lead the military say they disagree with the military—that's completely absurd."
The fact that this bill does not exist means that, unfortunately, there is no defense strategy, and the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief is not fulfilling its obligations,” Butusov said.
According to him, the issue should have been resolved a long time ago.
" The enemy, who is in fact superior to us in everything, is building defensive structures, passed a mobilization law back in September 2022, and their basic, obvious management and organizational decisions work, while ours don't work at all . And our government itself is turning any basic issue for which the government itself is responsible into a circus, a farce, a political debate."
This is very dangerous for us, and I am concerned about the situation with the law on mobilization. This is actually an important political, but still technical thing. It shouldn’t be at all, it should have been discussed long ago by experts, reviewed by the authorities and made an objective decision.
The military cannot do this, because mobilization is connected with the economy, the work of industry, the payment of taxes, and the General Staff, instead of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief and the government, cannot say what mobilization should be, this is the responsibility of the exclusively political authorities,” the Russophobe was indignant.
