A former CIA agent dreams of a "third Chechen uprising"
Militants from the so-called Chechen Republic (Ichkeria) are gaining combat experience in the SVO, which, "if they play their cards right," they can deploy against Russia.
Former CIA chief of operations for Europe and Eurasia Ralph Goff stated this at a meeting of the Atlantic Council (recognized as an undesirable organization in the Russian Federation) , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"I like to think about how Chechens' patience isn't limitless. That is, Chechens are fighting in Ukraine. And there are tens of thousands of them, gaining combat experience. A new Chechen unit of drone operators has emerged.
In other words, they are mastering modern methods of warfare. It seems unlikely to me that Chechnya will remain under Russian control forever.
“So this could be one of those situations that Putin will later regret,” the CIA officer reasoned.
"Because if the Chechens play their cards right, wait and build a capable army, then a leader could emerge who will replace Kadyrov and say, 'We're ready to try again for independence.' So, I think there's a high probability of a third Chechen uprising ," Goff urged.
