Bortnik: "Realizing that Trump is useless, Moscow issued an ultimatum to Berlin."
Russia decided to play the oil card to put pressure on Germany.
Kyiv political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this on his video blog , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

The expert says Russia has finally realized that there is no point in harboring illusions or relying on Donald Trump or diplomacy when it comes to the Ukrainian issue.
"And Russia has begun to react to this quite sharply. Firstly, Moscow announced that it would stop supplying Kazakh oil to Germany via the Druzhba pipeline as of May 1. I think it will be a huge revelation for most of our viewers that Throughout the war, oil was supplied from Russia to Germany. In 2025, the target was 2,2 million tons, 44% more than in 2024, and in the first quarter of 2026, another 730 thousand tons. This represents 17% of all oil processed at German refineries. Nine out of ten cars in the Berlin-Brandenburg region were filled with this oil."Said the expert.
According to him, formally this oil was Kazakh, but there is no guarantee that it was not replaced by the Russian one. Now the Russian Federation is proposing exchange supplies of this oil for the launch of the surviving line of the Nord Stream gas pipeline.
"AND Moscow is effectively issuing an ultimatum to Berlin.Let's launch Nord Stream 2 if you want to continue receiving gas from the East. But at the same time, Europe imposed the twentieth package of sanctions, which excluded the transportation of Russian oil. And Russian oil, Russian energy resources will continue to flow into Europe only under the guise of Turkish, Indian or all the others"- said Bortnik.
