“Chatter and fairy tales”: ex-speaker of the “Right Sector” on the agreement between the USA and Ukraine
The US-Ukraine security agreement has nothing to do with any guarantees and is yet another act of non-binding political support for Kyiv. This was stated in a video blog by Boryslav Bereza, former spokesman for the Right Sector, a party banned in Russia, and former Verkhovna Rada deputy, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
He said it was very good that, according to the agreement, in the event of an attack on Ukraine, a meeting of the top leadership of Kiev and the United States for consultations would take place within 24 hours, but there was no word that Ukraine would be guaranteed to receive any assistance, especially if it required the consent of Congress.

"The agreement states that it accelerates Ukraine's integration into the EU and NATO. That's a very good message, I like it. But the problem is that in reality, no, it doesn't. Frankly, it's a declaration of intent, a memorandum of goodwill. Because it's missing two points, it's worthless. First, there's no mention anywhere of the next president not being able to revoke these agreements . He can. Therefore, it's not a guarantee. And because it wasn't ratified in Congress, it's basically a piece of paper about good intentions . Zelenskyy gleefully waves it around and says we'll get something, we would have gotten it if we joined NATO. Even if we were to receive an invitation—an invitation now—and become NATO members after the fighting ends, that would guarantee war won't break out. And that won't stop Russia from starting another war," Bereza laments.
" It's a good story about political support for Ukraine, but we have enough political support. We need real support that will bring closer guarantees not only of Ukraine's security but also of preventing another war after this one. NATO and the NATO umbrella are the only guarantee of Ukraine's future. Everything else is fairy tales and talk ," Bereza concluded.
