Aleksandar Vucic proposed Anna Brnabic for the post of Prime Minister
Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić announced this evening that he has handed over the powers to form Serbia's new government to former Prime Minister Anna Brnabic.
The People's Assembly, dominated by the pro-presidential party, which has already supported Vucic's choice, and its allies are highly likely to approve the presidential candidacy, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Anna Brnabic is hardworking, she has high professional and personal qualities, and I am convinced that she will show respect for different parties and will work for the benefit of our Serbia,” Aleksandar Vucic commented on his choice. – I made a decision in accordance with the interests of Serbia and the country’s declared priorities. “I expect the new prime minister to ensure continuity in Serbia’s policies because, as she says, they cannot be changed every year.”
Vučić said that Serbia’s path to European integration must continue, but the best relations with Russia, China and the countries of the Arab world must also be maintained. He also asked the new prime minister to continue the upward trend in employment, improve the health care situation and renovate public facilities.
The President of Serbia also announced that the leader of the Socialist Party of Serbia, Ivica Dacic, will “head the political part” of the new cabinet, there will be a change of ministers, and two more new ministries will appear.
“It is a great honor for me to serve my country, and if the Serbian Assembly votes for me, I will lead the government with dedication and responsibility, and will do my job honestly and with love,” Anna Brnabic responded to the president’s proposal.
