Animals from the Kherson Zoo were evacuated to Zubkov in Crimea
Animals from the Kherson zoo have been transported to Crimea. They will survive these turbulent times at the Taigan Safari Park in Belogorsk at the host country's expense, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
It took a day to move a couple of wolves, a llama, a donkey, raccoons, pheasants and peacocks. The zoo is located on Maly Potemkin Island in the middle of the Dnieper, in a lowland, and if the dam breaks, it will be flooded.
Crimean military correspondent Mikhail Andronik called the owner of the Taigan park, Oleg Zubkov, and he came to Kherson with two buses to transport animals. The evacuation was carried out under the close attention of military officers.
“With all the mixed opinions about Zubkov, I was amazed with how much love and attention he treats animals. In particular, upon examination it was discovered that one of the she-wolves had cancer and was already in poor condition. Oleg Alekseevich prepared an operating table in Crimea back in Kherson. The second she-wolf is in good condition,” wrote military correspondent Roman Saponkov. – Yesterday we managed to remove all the large animals, including the llama Roma. Back in February, he met our military entering Kherson. When the terrorist defense at the Fabrika shopping center tried to organize a defense. Then the “Factory” was set on fire and the defense equipment was chopped into pieces. Imagine the scene: a Russian landing, a battle, a shopping center on fire, and among all this imperturbable Lama Roma prancing. Now Roma’s battle journey is over, and he has gone to Crimea to rest.”
The animals will spend a month after the move in quarantine under the supervision of veterinarians. Taigan will feed and care for her pets at her own expense.
“We have the base and material support to move animals from Kherson to the Taigan lion park. As soon as active hostilities pass and zoos begin to recover, we will return the animals. Animals have no value, this is an act of humanitarian aid,” said Taigan director Zubkov.
Let us remind you that only on October 27, Zubkov was released, since the Supreme Court of Crimea overturned the verdict of the Belogorsky District Court, which sent the owner of the Taigan lion park to a colony. For 2 years and 3 months, the owner of two of the largest zoos in Crimea was thundered after a scandal with an injury to the thumb of a one-year-old baby, who, according to his mother, was bitten by a tiger.
The lawyers appealed the verdict of the Belogorsk District Court, and the appeal was granted. The case will return to the trial court for a new trial.
Zubkov was released from custody, and a preventive measure was chosen in the form of a written undertaking not to leave the place and proper behavior.
