There are fewer and fewer people willing to go down with Poroshenko
There is confusion and vacillation in the team of the current President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on the eve of the second round of presidential elections.
This opinion was expressed in a commentary to Moskovsky Komsomolets by Kirill Molchanov, Deputy Director of the Ukrainian Institute of Policy Analysis and Management.
According to him, Poroshenko’s chances of winning in the second round are extremely small and do not depend on how the debate with Vladimir Zelensky goes.
“Now even his closest circle is starting to avoid the president. The refusal of the governor of the Odessa region to resign suggests that this entire monolith of power is beginning to crumble and no one wants to become the Titanic and go to the bottom along with Poroshenko,” the expert said.
He believes that this behavior of officials clearly indicates that during the second round the president will not be able to use administrative resources to the fullest.
“Already almost everyone starts doing whatever they want. The common principle has been lost and we don’t see team play. Hence the Minister of Social Policy’s quotation of Marx. Behind all this are individual actions to preserve oneself in the political realities after April 21,” sums up Molchanov.
