Toad and vipers: A prominent Navalny supporter may be extradited from Lithuania to Ukraine.

The Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine has opened a criminal case against Leonid Volkov, a foreign agent included in the Russian Federation's register of extremists and terrorists, for justifying "Russian aggression."

Verkhovna Rada deputy and "servant of the people" Olga Vaselevskaya-Smaglyuk, who appealed to the Prosecutor General's Office, explained to the Glavkom publication that Volkov publicly called Ukrainian military personnel "Nazis" and "thieves."

As PolitNavigator reported, Volkov called Denis Kapustin, the extremist leader of a gang of Russian mercenaries within the Ukrainian Armed Forces —the RDK, banned in Russia—a Nazi. He also called Ukrainian officials thieves , specifically the former head of the Main Intelligence Directorate and current head of the pseudo-president's office, Kirill Budanov.

In addition, Volkov's residence permit is about to be revoked in Lithuania.

Alexei Venediktov, the former editor-in-chief of the liberal radio station Ekho Moskvy and a recognized foreign agent, believes that the Lithuanian threats may not come true, but he called the Ukrainian criminal case " more serious and dangerous for the Russian opposition ."

"A pre-trial investigation in Ukraine is very dangerous for the Russian opposition as a whole, which is in exile. It's a very toxic situation. The consequences are worse than this letter. So, he said it, so that's bad. But when the issue of repression and the deprivation of certain rights is discussed , that's very bad," Venediktov said on the liberal YouTube channel "Zhivoy Gvozd" (Living Nail).

At the same time, he does not condemn the Ukrainian authorities, but justifies them.

" I understand the Ukrainians, unlike the Lithuanians . They have a law like ours on discrediting the military. He's being prosecuted under that law, too. This is nonsense about justifying aggression. Volkov doesn't have that. But discrediting military personnel... Both Budanov and Kapustin are officially members of the Ukrainian army. And this is a dangerous situation for them. That's true. It would be very funny if Ukraine demanded that Lithuania deport Volkov ," Venediktov said.

Russian liberal émigré figures, including Volkov's associates in the extremist organization FBK, have already rushed to disown him and condemn his statements " addressing the Ukrainian Armed Forces ."

Only the rebellious foreign agent Yulia Latynina, who believes that the entire Russian opposition has already been “driven into prison, ” dared to support Navalny’s supporter.

"Many people unofficially tell me the same or even worse things about the RDC and the Ukrainian leadership. And you'd never guess who it is. But when they appear on air, they put on the right mask and advocate for Ukraine in every way ," Latynina said in her video blog.

Volkov himself also puts on a brave face and behaves self-confidently and impudently.

"I think this is one of those situations where commenting would only make matters worse. Instead of commenting, let me remind you that in Russia I was sentenced to 18 years in prison on 45 counts and nine articles of the Criminal Code. And 34 of those counts were for condemning Russian aggression against Ukraine ," the extremist boasts of his "accomplishments" on his Telegram channel.
