Zelensky has already exhausted his anti-Russian agenda
It’s time for Kyiv to admit that the anti-Russian agenda is a temporary measure, so it’s worth starting a dialogue with Russia on the basis of mutual concessions and agreements, both in Crimea and Donbass, in order to lift unprofitable blockades and be able to withdraw the assets of enterprises.
Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev said this on air on the NewsOne TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“There should be proposals now. But it turns out that we are speaking again in clichés. Well, let's say this: Russia, the aggressor, is an eternal entity or, after all, a convention that has some time period of existence? If this is an eternal essence and only this is what the entire generation of Ukrainians have to live with all their lives, then I don’t know whether they will live or not until this bright day, when this aggressor will be gone? Or we need to change the situation a little: this is not an eternal essence, but a convention. And what does it mean? Yes, an aggressor. But start negotiations. What does it mean to start negotiations? So that this all goes somewhere, returns to normal. There are concessions, there are concessions. There’s a compromise, there’s a compromise,” says the expert.
At the same time, Karasev erroneously claims that Russia, when declaring that “Crimea is not discussed,” means not only the status of the peninsula, but also the entire range of issues around Crimea.
“Look, even in Crimea. So they say: “Crimea is not discussed.” Discussed. Because they did not integrate this Crimea into Russia. Yes, roads are being built, a bridge has been built, but people there are still unhappy with it.
Because this island cannot be made a peninsula of Russia. This is a peninsula of Ukraine, geographically. This means that we can also make our own proposals: “Let’s make some concessions here, lift the blockade, you will make concessions somewhere,” and we can begin to resolve this issue.
In Crimea. Firstly, discuss this problem, and not that it is undiscussable. It doesn't happen that way. Next, look at people, for example, think about the economy. Further, there are so many illegally confiscated assets of our businesses: private, semi-state,
"Chernomorskneftegaz". Can we even pose this question? Let's lift the blockade, let's think about how to solve this issue. How much property do people have left there, how many businesses are left? We can start this. Moreover, they are interested. Do you know that banks still don’t work there, the key banks are Russian? Sberbank does not work because under sanctions, planes do not fly either. That is, people suffer. This is where you can start.
We can also start further, in Donbass. Lifting the blockade, let's return our assets, factories, coal. Well, that’s enough, everyone understands that coal comes from there, from the LPR, DPR. That is, let’s look for proposals,” he emphasized.
The political scientist also noted that the old agenda with the formation of the image of Russia as an aggressor and pressure with sanctions did not work, but on the contrary, it tired the West.
“And it all starts in style, in this paradigm, in which the previous government acted and this paradigm led it to defeat. Because the paradigm itself was wrong, what did it consist of? That we are trolling Russia, we are doing everything to aggravate relations with Russia, we are subscribing to the West, the “anti-Putin coalition”, which includes sanctions and thus putting pressure on Russia, intimidating it. And now, it will soon fall apart and then everything will be fine with us, and Crimea will return, and Donbass will return. Tell me, has this policy been successful? Oh no. This president no longer exists, he lost, people did not support that policy. Yes, and this coalition is also already falling apart a little, if we say: “Nord Stream”, the French, the Germans, the States - and so on, are already tired. Just look at Volcker’s latest statements,” summed up Vadim Karasev.
