" As of today, there have been approximately 12 hours of outages across Ukraine, on average, in each region. This indicates that the disruptions and damage to the energy system are quite complex and extensive. In my opinion, such damage could only have been caused by Russia penetrating the perimeter of the substations that supply power from the nuclear power plants—all three nuclear power plants . In my opinion—and I'm not an official—I believe that's exactly what happened.

Russia's goal with this attack, as with previous ones (August 17th and August 24th), was to disconnect our nuclear power plants from Ukraine's unified energy grid. And since nuclear power plants are our key source of energy, nearly 55%, the enemy's goal is absolutely clear ," Omelchenko stated.

Experts have previously repeatedly warned that Kyiv is deliberately exaggerating the damage from missile attacks in order to beg for more aid from the West and to misinform Russia in an attempt to avoid new strikes on energy facilities.
