Viktor Medvedchuk’s “Opposition Platform – For Life” has recently been giving the votes in the Verkhovna Rada that are necessary to adopt the laws necessary for the presidential party “Servant of the People”.
In particular, Medvedchuk's allies secured 13 votes to pass amendments to the law on regulations that will neutralize the influence of oligarch Ihor Kolomoisky's group. Political scientist Kost Bondarenko pointed this out on the Capital channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“This vote was preceded by several other events. An interview with Sergei Vladimirovich Lyovochkin appeared, quite complementary to the current government; they nominated General Petrov, a person far from a stranger to certain leaders of the Opposition for Life, for the post of governor of the Transcarpathian region.
Therefore, we can say that now those around Zelensky are trying to somehow reach some kind of truce with the OPZZH, without letting them go completely into a purely opposition channel, they are trying to bring them into “constructive opposition”, as is usual with us - here today we are oppositionists , and tomorrow we will begin cooperation with the authorities,” Bondarenko said.
