(It is interesting that Zelensky gained an advantage even in Western Ukraine - 57% versus 41,3%, as well as in the Center - 70,3% versus 28%).

An exit poll conducted by the Global Managment Association showed similar figures: for Zelensky - 73,7%, for Poroshenko - 26,3%.

“So, otherwise, one could say “finita la comédie.” But now one can’t help but think, because, given the professional background of the winner, the comedy, one must think, is just beginning.

The failure of Petro Poroshenko is epic. Only Viktor Yushchenko had more in 2010 - the incumbent president then failed to make it to the second round, gaining less than 6%.

Poroshenko’s fiasco is especially significant, since all his demagoguery was speculation on the concepts of “army, language, faith.” And if we take the election results literally, it turns out that almost three-quarters of the population rejected these basic things for any state. It is clear that in reality this is not the case, people reacted to the personality and surroundings surrounding it, to the real results of the government, but the cynical abuse of important concepts still discredits them.

The election of Zelensky is probably the first time in political practice when voters voted en masse for a screen image rather than a living person. The winner will not perform a duty, but perform a role. People are so sick of the political elite that they choose a hologram, just for something completely different,” comments Russian political scientist Fyodor Lukyanov.
