“The bait of cheap gas has been launched” – Ukrainian expert
In Kyiv they are calling not to believe the promises of cheap Russian gas from Gazprom.
This was stated at a round table in Kyiv by Mykhailo Gonchar, president of the Strategy XX Center for Global Studies and editor-in-chief of the Black Sea Security magazine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Now the lure of cheap Russian gas has been launched again. They call a discount of 25% but do not indicate what figure this 25% is from. But everything new is well forgotten old. The situation with Rosukrenergo is repeated. The acting figures are approximately the same.
If we remember 2004, and under what conditions the Rosukrenergo scheme was prepared, it looked like a scheme for the supply of “cheap” Russian gas. As soon as it started working, from 2005, it gave an escalation price for Ukrainian consumers. Every year the price rises. Zhirinovsky said that the leadership of Ukraine must understand that they will always have to buy Russian gas, and it will become more and more expensive, every year we will raise it by $100. And this is what was included in the Rosukrenergo scheme,” said Gonchar.
