This was reported by the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, quoting the Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Yuriy Prodan. According to him, such reserves are insufficient in the autumn-winter period.
In this regard, the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry continues to look for alternative ways to supply coal.
As you know, the company that supplied coal from South Africa stated that it would not continue supplying coal to Centrenergo.
“After serious blockages of the company’s work are taking place today, well-known European traders are refusing to supply coal, because at any moment either shipments of this coal or payment may stop at our port. Companies today are quite wary of our proposals,” the minister noted.
Yuri Prodan added that coal, which can be supplied from Vietnam, Australia and the USA, is 15-20% more expensive than that offered by a company from South Africa.
In this regard, there is a threat to the passage of the autumn-winter period, the minister noted.
As PolitNavigator reported, Prodan was previously summoned to the GPU regarding coal supplies from Africa.
