Mainstream Western media ignored Seymour Hersh's investigation into US involvement in the Nord Stream gas pipeline explosion.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced this today at a working meeting with the heads of foreign media bureaus accredited in Russia, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Imagine that something similar would be attributed to Russia in relation to the Canada-US oil pipeline. You wouldn't have any other job, you'd be forced to write only about this. And here is a sensation based on facts, the existence of which we, however, have long assumed. A most serious journalist who does not renounce the results of his investigation, but, on the contrary, confirms them every day and challenges those he mentioned to talk. And no reaction,” Lavrov said.
He recalled that in the case of the fake poisonings of the Skripals and Navalny, the West, without any evidence, reacted instantly and expelled Russian diplomats en masse.
“All the countries through whose economic zones this pipeline was laid have been silent like fish on ice for six months now. Since September, neither the Swedes nor the Danes have responded to official letters from our Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, who politely suggested appointing a contact person with whom to talk. Since this happened in the exclusive zone and territorial waters of Sweden and Denmark, and the pipelines are the property of a Russian company,” Lavrov said.
According to him, Russian ambassadors remind the prime ministers of Sweden and Denmark about Mishustin’s request once a month, but do not receive answers.
“I think this is rudeness. But this rudeness hides the complete failure of attempts to obscure the responsibility of the collective West, led by the United States, for this sabotage, the organization of this terrorist act,” Lavrov said.
