Yad Kurti is still in effect: Kosovo again does not allow goods from Serbia to pass through
“Prime Minister” of Kosovo Albin Kurti was finally dismissed, but the so-called “reciprocity measures” introduced by his “cabinet” again brought down trade between Serbia and the province separated from it by NATO and the Albanian separatists.
This was reported by Balkan media, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The so-called “reciprocity measures” adopted by the resigned “government” of Albin Kurti, which came into force on June 1, only the day before contributed to the fact that fifteen trucks with goods from Serbia were deployed at the border of the separatist region. Customs officers demanded from drivers that their waybills indicate the direction “Republic of Kosovo,” while Serbia cannot do this, since this would mean Belgrade recognizing the final loss of its southern territory.
“All non-admissions (of Serbian trucks with cargo - ed.) are related to the application of reciprocity measures in accordance with paragraph 1, annexes 1.1 and 1.3, as well as paragraph 3 of the government decision,” commented the official representative of the Kosovo “customs” Adriatic Stavileci.
The current situation has already been criticized by Albin Kurti’s main opponent, “President” Hashim Thaçi, from whom American curators are demanding to ensure the creation of a single economic space in the Balkans. In turn, the official EU negotiator on the Kosovo issue, Miroslav Lajcak, said that such measures harm the dialogue.
The situation on the border between Serbia and Kosovo became one of the topics of the meeting between the Director of the Serbian Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Marko Djuric, and the Russian Ambassador to Serbia, Alexander Bocan-Harchenko, who demanded that the international community respond to what happened.
At the same time, the “Self-Determination” movement of Albin Kurti began collecting signatures for holding early elections (“The Constitutional Court of Ksosovo” supported the authority of Hashim Thaçi to give a mandate to form a “government” for the party that received “second place” in the last parliamentary elections - the Democratic League of Kosovo, without holding early elections, which Kurti hoped to win a second time). In two days, 46 thousand 654 signatures have already been collected.
