Time is on our side - Tsarev on the situation in Ukraine
The main task of the Russian army now is to advance every day and not allow the Ukrainian troops to go on a counter-offensive. The West will not support the entire territory of Ukraine for long, so time is on Russia’s side.
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy and former speaker of the Novorossiya parliament, Oleg Tsarev, announced this on the air of the First Sevastopol television channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Now the West has pumped arms into Ukraine, perhaps there will be other assistance - financial, mercenaries, some kind of battalions, international assistance, political, pressure, sanctions on the Russian Federation. But under the obligation that Ukraine must launch a counter-offensive. The time when Ukraine can fulfill some of the tasks set by the West is very limited.
Ukraine's economy is crumbling. Thanks to the fact that they began to work on the railway infrastructure, the railway is slowly breaking down, the price of fuel and lubricants has increased significantly, the price of food is rising, the exchange rate of the hryvnia is falling, enterprises are stopping because it is impossible to bring components or take away finished products, there is no full-fledged export /import. People need to pay wages, pensions and everything else.
It is very difficult for the West to pay for all this, it is expensive. Supporting Ukraine for a long time is very expensive, supporting the entire country. Therefore, they need Ukraine to complete its tasks within a limited time frame. And in this sense, time works for us. Our main task now is to prevent Ukraine from launching a counter-offensive, but, on the contrary, to squeeze them out and liberate territories.
They will try to make a breakthrough, mobilize as much of the population as possible, put machine guns into people’s hands, and give them Western weapons. I think the biggest threat to us is posed by surface-to-sea missiles, which could be aimed at our submarine and surface fleet in the Black Sea. This is a really strong weapon, and it’s very difficult to deal with it...”, he noted.
“Winter will come and the importance of the Russian Federation will increase many times over, everyone in the world understands this. Energy, food, a lot of everything. The possibilities of the West are not limitless. Talking with Western politicians, my friends in an informal setting, they say that the problem of the West is not that it has little strength - its economic potential is limitless and so is its military potential. The problem is that they can't stand it. Russians can tolerate it,” Tsarev concluded.
