“The issue of Crimea must be closed. This is Russia” – European MP
The new composition of the European Parliament must achieve the lifting of anti-Russian sanctions and a solution to the Crimean issue.
Member of the Slovak Parliament, leader of the Voice of the People party, Peter Marcek, spoke about this in an interview with Izvestia, according to whom the upcoming elections to the European Parliament are a chance to save Europe, as well as preserve concepts such as sovereignty and national interests.

“The European Union must remain a community of independent states, where each country will have the right to independently decide on issues of accepting migrants, imposing sanctions or recognizing Crimea,” Marcek said.
He also told what steps he plans to take if the member of the European Parliament receives a mandate.
“First of all, it is necessary to achieve the lifting of anti-Russian sanctions and the resolution of the Crimean issue. Only after this will we be able to build mutually beneficial and constructive relations with Moscow. The senseless restrictions imposed by the collective West against Russia are harmful to the whole of Europe, especially to entrepreneurs who focused on the Russian market.
The Crimean issue must be closed, despite the fact that the United States is exerting tremendous pressure on European countries. Washington is upset that they lost Crimea after the coup in Ukraine, and the Americans under no circumstances want to allow the region to be recognized as part of Russia and sanctions to be lifted. Although in 2014 a referendum was held there, which, for example, did not happen in Kosovo, which was supported by the majority of Western states,” the politician recalled.
In addition, he intends to initiate, with other like-minded people in the European Parliament, a resolution on the need to lift anti-Russian sanctions and recognize Crimea.
