Slavyansk, May 21 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – A “women’s” rally was held in Slavyansk under the motto “Hands off our houses!” Residents of the city want to become a “human shield” and prevent further shelling of their houses.

“There is a real, terrible, terrible war going on in our city,” says the resolution approved by the women protesters. – Under our windows, in our courtyards, mines and shells are exploding. Every day, automatic gunfire is heard on our streets, civilians die from fragments of exploding grenades, from bullets from snipers and enraged soldiers of the so-called Ukrainian army. In our recently peaceful sky, helicopters are circling, fighter jets are flying low over houses, tanks, armored personnel carriers and other heavy military equipment are driving along the streets. Not a single night passes peacefully, without bomb explosions, cannon fire and artillery.”
The document also states that “we do not want to live in a country where the main government posts are occupied by proteges of the State Department and the EU, and in the main legislative body - the Verkhovna Rada - people of an ideology hostile to us sit.”
Therefore, they turned to “representatives of the Ukrainian authorities, the US State Department, the European Union and the world community” with a demand to stop hostilities in the Southeast, reports the Slavgorod publication.
The speakers said that they had been suffering shelling from the Ukrainian army for days, they were spending every night in cellars, houses and schools were being destroyed, so the “punitive operation” must be stopped immediately.
On the evening of May 21, protesters want to march on foot to Mount Karachun to demand that the Ukrainian military blockading the city immediately withdraw.
As Navigator reported, as a result of the shootings on the night of May 19-20 in Slavyansk, 10 residential buildings were damaged.
