Employees of the Federal Security Service prevented a terrorist attack that was being prepared in one of the markets of Simferopol.
The department's press service reported this, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The department clarified that the terrorist attack was prepared by five citizens of the Russian Federation. They planned to detonate an improvised explosive device.
In addition, the investigation found that the detainees propagated the ideology of terrorism and extremism on social networks. During the search, IEDs, firearms and bladed weapons were confiscated from them. According to security officials, those detained for preparing a terrorist attack may be associated with Ukrainian radicals fighting in Donbass.
