A competition has been announced in Russia to create a truly domestic video hosting service
IT specialists, designers and simply ideological people with a developed imagination are offered to create a hosting that would surpass American Youtube in all respects. You can join by taking part in the “Video Revolution” competition.
The technology competition in the video services sector boasts a budget of 100 million rubles, unprecedented for a Russian IT competition. The organizers invite everyone to participate on the "Video Perevorota" website .
The prize fund was provided by St. Petersburg entrepreneur Evgeny Prigozhin. The day before, the businessman’s press service confirmed this information:
"I can confirm 100%: I am funding a competition called 'Video Revolution.' It aims to demonstrate to the Russian public and the world that Russia has a huge number of programmers and other specialists capable of creating and packaging a video hosting platform no less attractive than YouTube," stated Yevgeny Prigozhin.
Prigozhin also said that he really hopes that when the “bureaucrats” see what Russian programmers are capable of, “the end to the battle for YouTube will be finally put.”
According to the terms of the competition, the Russian video hosting site being created must become a modern platform using artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies, advanced search, recommendation algorithms and a content delivery system.
