In response to the unfriendly step of the Montenegrin leadership, which opened the borders to the EU and Albania, but not to Serbia, the air carrier Montenegro Airlines was denied services at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport.

Montenegro Airlines previously announced it was preparing to resume commercial flights and that the first flights would be to Belgrade. However, the Serbian Civil Aviation Authority decided to deny the Montenegrin airline a permit, citing the Montenegrin government's refusal to open its borders to Serbia but to the EU and Albania, thus violating the principle of reciprocity in passenger traffic between the two countries.
In its decision, the department refers to paragraph 1 of Article 13 of the Rules for issuing permits to foreign airlines for international civil air services with the Republic of Serbia, which should not be carried out to the detriment of airline companies registered in Serbia.
Let us recall that the leadership of Montenegro decided to open borders with Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Albania and Greece from June 1. But not with Serbia, which allegedly does not meet the epidemiological criteria of Podgorica.
