In Moscow they told how Erdogan is fighting with Hizb-ut-Tahrir
Detentions of members of the extremist organization Hizb-ut-Tahrir, which Ukrainian and Western media presented as persecution against the Crimean Tatars, were carried out simultaneously in Russia and Turkey, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The director of the Institute of Political and Social Research of the Black Sea-Caspian Region, Viktor Nadein-Raevsky, stated this today at a press conference in Moscow.
“The operation took place in both Turkey and Crimea. The Hizb, no matter how they try to accommodate Erdogan, he does not trust them. This is an extremist organization that outwardly doesn’t seem to be fighting anywhere, but its militants are fighting everywhere,” said Nadein-Raevsky.
According to him, Turkey also helped intercept ISIS fighters returning to Russia and prevent operations on Russian territory.
As Politnavigator previously reported, in 2017, security forces in Crimea detained more than 20 members of Hizb-ut-Tahrir. According to Ukrainian media, several thousand Hizbs and their families left for the territory of Ukraine after March 2014.
