Moscow warns: Ukraine’s severance of diplomatic relations will lead to recognition of the LDPR

If Ukraine breaks off diplomatic relations with Russia, the Russian Federation must officially recognize the LDPR. State Duma deputy and director Vladimir Bortko stated this today on the Rossiya 1 TV channel.

“I think this is a direct path to recognition of the Donbass republics. If they call us an aggressor country and break off relations, we must somehow continue relations with the republics. If we do this outside of Ukraine, we must recognize them. This suits me, as, I think, the citizens of the LDPR,” Bortko said.

Let us recall that earlier the media reported the intention of the Verkhovna Rada deputies to introduce an amendment to the bill on “Reintegration of Donbass”, which would fix the severance of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and Russia.
