“Why don’t we have a large number of Armata, T-90, etc. tanks? Because their price is wild. Yes, they will be more effective, but their price is many times higher, simply because the materials are different, and so on.

" But refitting the T-72, fine-tuning it, and ensuring the desired effect, with the necessary safety regulations… that's 20% of the effort and 80% of the result . It's more profitable now. Not in the sense that it's old equipment—no, it's fine. But we wouldn't be able to handle the Armata development on such a scale," he noted.

“They are wonderful, but this is a tank for other wars, for targeted wars. This is the future,” Shkolnikov concluded.
