In Kyiv they admitted: the moment is approaching when the Ukrainian gas transportation system can be cut into scrap metal
When Russia launches the Nord Stream 2 project, half of the Ukrainian gas transmission system can be safely cut for scrap metal.

Vice-President of the Academy of Economic Sciences of Ukraine Anatoly Peshko stated this on the air of the Ukrainian TV channel “LOT”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“For Western Europe and Germany, the flow of gas along the bottom of the Baltic Sea is much shorter and cheaper than transit through the territory of Ukraine,” Peshko admitted.
He noted that Germany strongly supports the development of this corridor, as evidenced by the statements of many German politicians, in particular, former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder.
“This is a very authoritative figure, and if he is already dealing with this issue, then there is practically no doubt that Nord Stream 2 will function,” the expert emphasized.
“If Nord Stream 2 operates, half of our gas transmission system, in fact, can be safely cut for scrap metal. Because with the thirty billion cubic meters of gas that remain, it will only reach self-sufficiency. In this case, only one branch will be used, which is directed to Western Europe,” added Anatoly Peshko.
