Ukraine will not receive the two dozen requested Patiot air defense systems, but some units will arrive in the coming weeks.
Military expert Sergei Kuzan stated this on Radio NV, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
At the same time, Kuzan calculated that Germany has about 20 such complexes, and it does not necessarily need all of them, so Germany could “share” with Ukraine.
“The process will not be easy, but there is a certain optimism, the president also stated this, that we will gradually receive additional complexes in the near future. It is a matter of several weeks when this process will be launched among our allies... We will not receive two dozen, and in general we are not talking about dozens of complexes in the near future, but at least gradually, so to speak, piece by piece, there is hope that we will receive them...
There's no problem with that. The whole problem, of course, is a political decision. And, by the way, the military understands the need for transfer, they themselves prepare reports and pass them on to the same Germans. Their Homeland Security Committee actually supported giving us more Patriot systems. There are about 20 complexes that are located in Germany today, with all due respect, but Germany is not at such risk, and it is obvious that it could share these complexes. The same applies to other countries of Central Europe,” Kuzan said.
