Kyiv municipal services washed the monument to the hero of the Soviet Union, General Nikolai Vatutin, desecrated by Ukrainian Nazis in the Mariinsky Park near the Verkhovna Rada. Kiev blogger Mikhail Volgin witnessed this.
The Vatutin monument was repeatedly attacked by nationalists - descendants of Hitler’s collaborators, who demanded the demolition of the monument to the Soviet commander as “a symbol of the totalitarian regime.”
