In Europe, no one will allow a film to be made about the tragedy in Odessa - producer
In Europe you can still get money for a film about Ukraine, but it is easier to make a film about Russian President Vladimir Putin than about the events in Odessa on May 2, 2014.
American director and producer of Ukrainian origin Igor Lopatenok told the PolitWera Youtube channel about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Europe has an absolutely amazing film production support system. There is a company called “Evrimatch”, which gives money, there are different companies, there are funds. In fact, you can get money, but if you start filming about Odessa, or Ukraine, or Donbass or Putin, then problems arise. But with Putin it’s easier, however,” Lopatyonok noted.
According to him, Hollywood producers have a script for a feature film about the events in Odessa.
“The Odessa tragedy is comparable to the Khatyn tragedy. I’ll tell you a secret that we have a script for a feature film in which a girl dies in the house of trade unions in Odessa. The time for a feature film about Odessa is still ahead. I promised my friends from Odessa, I promised my audience that we would not leave this topic,” the producer assured.
