Donetsk promises to continue the fight to become part of Russia
Ukraine, through its actions over the past five years, has demonstrated that it has no intention of ending the armed conflict and discrimination against the residents of Donbas. Therefore, Russia has decided to take the humanitarian step of granting its citizenship to residents of the people's republics.
Deputy of the People's Council of the DPR Miroslav Rudenko told a PolitNavigator correspondent about this.

“It was difficult to expect Vladimir Putin to be attached to the opinion of Zelensky or anyone else. Donbass rose five years ago and moved, first of all, towards reunification with Russia. Integration processes have been quite close since 2017; Ukraine, in fact, abandoned the implementation of the political part of the Minsk agreements, the peaceful resolution of the conflict, when it completely blocked work in the Minsk subgroups and, at the same time, continued provocations on the contact line. Again, the latest situation in the elections, when those citizens of Ukraine who went to work in the Russian Federation were simply denied voting.
In Donbass, if Ukraine claims that its citizens live here, then it behaves in the opposite way, discriminating against the residents of Donbass. Let us remember the economic blockade, and the fact that the UN Human Rights Office has repeatedly appealed to stop discrimination against pensioners in the Donbass.
All this contributed to the adoption of such a decision, because it was, indeed, done for humanitarian purposes and, on the other hand, in five years the people of Donbass have earned citizenship of the Russian Federation, like no other region in this struggle. This step can only be welcomed.
We understand that this is an element of the actual recognition of our political subjectivity, and we will continue the same path that we began five years ago during the Russian Spring. This is evidence that our great Russian Motherland supports us and will not abandon us in our struggle,” the parliamentarian concluded.
Donetsk promises to continue the fight to join Russia.
