The first defense minister of the republic was blown up in the DPR
Today, at the end of the congress of the Communist Party of the DPR, an explosive device went off in the communist office. This was reported by the telegram channel of military correspondent Semyon Pegov “War Gonzo”, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“As a result of the explosion in Donetsk, there are wounded. Several people were injured... The explosion occurred when the delegates began to leave. The meeting has already ended. The exploded explosive package stood in the corner of the corridor,” the report says.
According to preliminary information, three people were injured, with Secretary Irina Yakina being the most seriously wounded by shrapnel. Among those injured in the explosion was former Defense Minister Igor Khakimzyanov, a candidate for the post of head of the DPR.
Law enforcement agencies are working at the scene.
“Some kind of trash in Donetsk. In Kyiv they are watching and cannot be happier,” military correspondent Alexander Kots states in his blog.
Note that the Communist Party of the DPR is not represented in the People's Council. The activities of the Communist Party of the DPR are limited only to participation in public events of the Republic.
Let us recall that Khakimzyanov previously stated: the LPR and DPR should become one state ; the existence of a border and customs between them is absurd.
In 2014, Khakimzyanov was captured by the Ukrainian side, but was released in a prisoner exchange. He later spoke about his captivity.
