The ex-Minister of Defense called on the DPR and LPR to stop playing “independence”
The LPR and DPR must become one state; the existence of a border and customs between them is absurd. Former DPR Defense Minister Igor Khakimzyanov stated this on the Roy TV internet channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to him, the LPR and DPR are two parts of one region, artificially divided under the USSR.

“The division into DPR and LPR is inappropriate, in fact, because these are two territories of one coal-bearing region, which was simply divided into two regions back in Soviet times. This confrontation between Donetsk and Luhansk residents is unacceptable.
Now Pasechnik has unilaterally abolished customs and the border between the DPR and LPR, but we still have them in place, although on paper they have been eliminated,” said Khakimzyanov.
