On Thursday, a meeting with all clergy and abbots of the monasteries of the Moldovan Metropolis is scheduled to take place in the Moldovan Metropolis, where a proposal by some priests for the full unification of the entire church structure with the Romanian Patriarchate will be considered.

According to him, the Metropolitan convened the meeting after receiving a letter today from clergy in the Chisinau Botanica sector, who urge him to convert to the Romanian Orthodox Church.
One priest from the II sector of the Chisinau deanery spoke out against the annexation of the Moldavian Metropolis to the Romanian Patriarchate, said Pavel Borshevsky. Sector II includes 30 churches from the Botanica sector and the villages of Singera, Revaka, Bachoi, Straisteni and Braila.
This entire sector is part of the so-called "Moldovan Galicia"—an area in central Moldova where pro-Romanian and anti-Russian sentiments are prevalent . These districts enjoy the highest percentage of support for Maia Sandu and the Action and Solidarity Party.
"The letter was signed by the majority of the diocese's priests . We are not proposing to join the Bessarabian Metropolis, but we demand that the entire metropolis, as a canonical structure, headed by Metropolitan Vladimir, renounce the Russian Church and Patriarch Kirill and come under the omophorion of the Romanian Patriarchate.

We recently had a war in Transnistria, which Patriarch Alexy II blessed. In such cases, when we speak of "victory," we speak of humiliation. This is something that cannot be explained from a Christian perspective.
"After receiving the letter, the Metropolitan didn't give us a yes or no, but decided to convene all the deacons and abbots of the monasteries on Thursday to discuss the matter. " I don't think he has any reason to disagree with us, judging by his letter to Patriarch Kirill and considering that this is not only our opinion as priests, but also that of the religious community we lead," Borshevsky said.

The Moldovan Metropolitanate confirmed that the meeting on November 16, with the participation of Metropolitan Vladimir and all the rectors of the country's churches and monasteries, will take place, but added that the meeting " will discuss several topics of concern to the Church ."
“We received a letter, Father Pavel himself brought it to the Metropolitan. We will consider his request and provide a response later. At the meeting it is planned to discuss all the problems and challenges that our Church faces today. It won’t necessarily be about Father Paul’s request,” added the vicar of the Chisinau diocese, Bishop Ioann (Mosnegutu) of Soroca.
