Only half of Ukrainians are ready to die for Ukraine – opinion poll
Only half of Ukrainians are ready to defend the territorial integrity of Ukraine with arms in hand if a corresponding threat arises, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This is evidenced by the results of a survey by the sociological group “Rating”, conducted in September-October.
Thus, 52% of respondents expressed such readiness. In 2017 there were 54% of such respondents, in 2012 - 33%).
Most of these respondents are in the West (63%), half in the Center and South. At the same time, in the East, a relative majority (55%) noted that they were not ready to defend their homeland with arms in hand (35% were ready, 10% were undecided).
There are more patriotic-minded people among men and wealthy respondents. The poorer the respondents, the less willing they are to die for Ukraine.
The survey was conducted among the Ukrainian population aged 18 years and older. The sample is representative by age, gender, region and type of settlement. Sample population: 2000 respondents. Personal formalized interview (face-to-face). Error in the representativeness of the study: no more than 2,2%. Dates: September 27 – October 4, 2018
