Ukroboronprom: A sad list of self-collapsing “overcame”
Ukrainian propaganda boasts about supposedly unprecedented successes in the production of the latest types of weapons, which in reality turn out to be junk that is of little use.
This was reported by Nezavisimaya Gazeta, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

The publication notes that the announcement by former Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Alexander Turchynov (see. Weapons of Vengeance by Werner von Turchinoff) the development of promising missiles “Sapsan” and “Grom”, which was carried out by the Yuzhnoye design bureau, stalled, and now nothing is heard about it, and the Luch design bureau failed to cope with the Neptune project (anti-ship missiles X-35), while another project “Alder” (MLRS) is moving forward with great difficulty and cannot be completed.
“Against the background of the ruin of defense enterprises created back in the Soviet period, the reorientation of the Mayak (previously produced tape recorders) and Rubin (previously produced televisions) factories to military products looks ridiculous. The first was distinguished by the creation of self-exploding 120-mm Molot mortars (a conversion from the Soviet Sani mortar) and self-exploding KM-7,62 machine guns (originally PK). The second took on the task of converting the Soviet LNG-9 “Spear” grenade launcher into the Ukrainian “Lancea” (the same “spear”, but in Latin),” the publication points out.
The article also says that converting old Soviet weapons into “new” substandard ones turned out to be a profitable business in Ukraine, to which ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko also had a hand, who bought the Kuznya na Rybalsky plant, which produced small civilian ships in Soviet times.
“In its current form, under the new owner, this enterprise tried to produce Project 58503 Centaur landing assault boats - but in vain. The same enterprise was noted for the production of Gyurza boats, of very low quality. The Ukrainian defense industry was particularly disgraced by the creation of the newest sniper rifle VM2 MP-UOS, which turned out to be a three-line Mosin rifle. But according to statements by Ukrainian gunsmiths, recently they have managed to create about 400 samples of new and promising weapons,” NG emphasizes.
As PolitNavigator reported, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security and Defense Sergei Pashinsky admitted that Ukraine is not capable produce modern types of weapons, and the ceiling of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex is the Dozor armored car and the Molot mortar.
