Ukrainian expert on the situation in Chasov Yar: A wake-up call about a disaster
The situation in Chasov Yar is not yet completely catastrophic for Ukraine, but it is already very difficult.
Political scientist Andrei Zolotarev stated this on the air of the Politeka internet channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to the expert, the Russian Armed Forces are now putting pressure on several sectors of the front at once in order to push through the defenses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and gain operational space.
"It's alarming, I wouldn't say catastrophic, but the situation is truly dire for the Ukrainian Armed Forces . Some experts are talking about attacks on 12 fronts, but what's happening since early March is the undermining of the armed forces' defenses, hoping that somewhere the defenses will crumble and the Russian Armed Forces will be able to gain operational space."
Among such defense connectivity points is Chasov Yar. Yes, it is located on a hill - this is a very advantageous position for defense, but under one condition - if there is ammunition for artillery. For mortars and multiple launch rocket systems, then storming such a position is a thankless task. If the ratio to ammunition is 1 to 10, then this is an alarm bell,” Zolotarev said.
