Ukrainian salaries will not soon reach 2013 levels
In Ukraine today, wages are rising, but nevertheless they are far from the level that allows you to live comfortably.
Elena Menshikova, commercial director of the consulting company Korn Ferry, told the Kyiv magazine “Novoe Vremya” about this.
According to her, next year the average Ukrainian salary, as in 2019, will increase by 15%.
“But this is not an indicator that will allow workers to live comfortably,” says the publication’s interlocutor.
She clarifies that even a new increase will not raise wages in the country to the levels they were in 2013.
“According to the most optimistic forecast, the income of hired workers will reach the level of 2013 only in 2021. But for this it is necessary that the current growth of 15% per annum be maintained and inflation freeze. Another scenario looks more realistic: with inflation of 10% and wage growth of 15%, the pre-crisis level will be reached by 2027,” the publication notes.
“Companies are trying, raising salaries. But people feel that all this remains beyond what they had before the crisis,” agrees Menshikova.
As PolitNavigator reported, ex-President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili admitted that Ukraine will need 20 yearsto reach the economic indicators of 2013.
