At night, troops of the National Guard and detachments of the Donbass battalion, with the support of heavy armored vehicles, entered Avdiivka. The cleanup began at approximately 6 a.m. The mayor of the city of Avdeevka, Yuri Cherkasov, was transferred to Kyiv.
“The police were also collected and transported for inspection and “re-education.” A hunt has begun for DPR activists: many are hiding in the basements of friends and in abandoned outbuildings,” local residents say.
It is almost impossible to leave the city. Transport does not work, and taxi drivers decided to make money from the war: for one kilometer they charge 200 hryvnia, so getting to the Donetsk border will cost from 1 to 200 UAH, to Yasinovataya from 4000 to 1 UAH.
According to eyewitnesses, the first thing the National Guardsmen did was go to the bomb shelters, where, in their opinion, the wounded militiamen were located. They threatened to shoot them, as well as local residents who would not help in the search. At the moment, the headquarters of the 93rd brigade is organized in Avdeevka.
