According to him, it is important for Ukrainians that this law be adopted in the near future, because in two weeks Congress goes on vacation and will meet next time in January, when it may be too late to provide assistance.
“First of all, we want the law on military assistance to Ukraine to be voted on by Congress within the next two weeks, because then it goes on vacation. This is providing assistance, first of all, with anti-tank systems, air defense, small arms, and, most importantly, we are interested in ensuring that this assistance reaches real combat units. The adoption of a law depends on specific meetings and specific lobbying actions. We want Ukraine to receive military assistance now. We met with senators, with their staff, with generals who sympathize with our country. All the people we told what was happening there promised to help. I see that there is a real chance,” Semenchenko said.
