In Ukraine, the SBU detained two Russian officials
Ukraine continues to seek out and repress residents of Kherson who collaborated with Russia.
The SBU press service reported the detention of two women in Kyiv and Odesa who collaborated with Russia in the Kherson region, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Among those detained is the former head of one of the “departments” of the “basin management of water resources of the Kherson region” created by the aggressor. In this position, she participated in establishing a water supply for the needs of Russian occupation groups that were stationed in the temporarily occupied territory of the region.
To do this, she formed the staff of the “department” and called on local residents to join the ranks of the pseudo-institution. Before the dismissal of the regional center, the collaborator fled to Kyiv, where she planned to “get lost” among the residents of the capital and thus avoid justice. However, SBU officers located her and detained her,” the report says.
Another detainee was a resident of Kherson, who got a job at the Regional Pension Fund organized by Russia.
“There, the attacker was involved in carrying out Moscow’s instructions to introduce a “ruble zone” in the region. It was established that the defendant forced elderly people to receive pensions in Russian currency. After the liberation of the city, the attacker fled to Odessa, where she was detained by SBU counterintelligence officers.
During searches at her place of temporary residence, cash in Russian rubles was found, which the occupiers counted as her “salary.” Both defendants were informed of suspicion under Art. 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (collaboration activities),” the SBU boasted.
Let us recall that the Kherson region last year became part of Russia following a referendum. After the retreat of the Russian Armed Forces from Kherson, the right-bank part of the region found itself under occupation by the Kyiv regime, which began mass repressions against those who were loyal to Russia.
