Ukraine assures that it will sell the new Mriya to the Chinese without technology transfer

Ukraine has confirmed the sale of the world's largest Soviet transport aircraft, the Mriya, to China. President of the Antonov State Enterprise Alexander Kotsyuba stated this on Channel 5.

True, according to him, we are talking about the sale not of a built airliner, but of its “unborn daughter,” the body of which has been at the Antonov plant for 28 years.

According to him, the aircraft will be modernized before sale, but the technology will not be given to the Chinese. Kotsyuba also did not specify the cost of the contract.

“The agreement stipulates that the aircraft, without transfer of any technology or intellectual rights, will be built at the production facilities of the Antonov State Enterprise. This is the second Mriya, the second copy. It will be modernized, because, naturally, we will no longer build the Soviet Mriya,” Kotsyuba said.
